A man who fell more than 180 feet over Niagara Falls without any safety equipment and lived has become only the third person authorities know of to manage the feat, although they're still unsure why he jumped. Police say witnesses saw the man go over the railing just above Horseshoe Falls (on the Canadian side) and come up in the lower Niagara River basin near an observation platform. The man, said to be in his 40s, was airlifted to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
